Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning both dry and wet messes in one session without the need to switch between devices. They can also reduce space in comparison to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot should be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bin and fill up their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads using the dock that is specifically designed for them.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has a lot to offer for its low cost, and it's one of the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you running with a clean and complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time.

The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can mops up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops spin at high speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a range of brushes and attachments and an intuitive app that lets you select the exact kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

For instance, you could choose to have the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the living and kitchen but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation tech are excellent too and the robot is capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only minor issue is that it tends to hit objects and walls at a high speed, but a quick glance at the history of cleaning in the app tells you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading, and which obstacles it's avoided.

The docking station has an LCD display that shows when maintenance is needed like emptying the debris and cleaning the water tank that is dirty. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank, by using a 600ml bottle filled with the eufy's solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time, with the mop capable of running for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode, and the vacuum capable of running for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or return to the base to replenish. The app is easy to use and intuitive that lets you look at every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's flagship robot vacuum and mop. Unlike last year's model this one has an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad, which significantly improves its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to remove small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners could overlook.

This Roborock model, just like the other two I tried it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it get around obstacles like furniture, walls, and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by having a dual camera that can detect objects and determine whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It then can automatically alter its path and clean them without missing a beat.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed but it's also loaded with features. Its sleek, angular design is eye catching, and it only has three physical buttons. The power button, which also resumes the cleaning mop button, which doubles as a child-lock and a home-button that can take the robot vacuum cleaner best to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin is auto-filling.

The only issue I encountered to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if it's required) but it's a challenge to take off the mount to wash it manually. I've found any plush carpet that the best robot hoover crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mounts, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of intelligent features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app is where you can manage and set up these features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor battery life and component maintenance. You'll have to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how efficient it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with cutting-edge features, high suction power and advanced mopping capabilities. Its innovative design lets users to tailor and effectively clean while reducing time.

The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the best automatic vacuum alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair, crumbs and other dry debris. It comes with a mop that is top quality that cleans hard floors without using pads. The X40 is also extremely quiet when in operation and only occasionally bursting during mode changes or self-maintenance.

Another standout characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brushes, which allows it to get into hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean curved furniture like table and chairs' legs. It can also get under low-profile furnishings, making it an excellent option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush also automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots. This is a nice touch that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by excessive back-and-forth movements.

In contrast to other robots that are limited to one task, the X40 can vacuum and mop simultaneously. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas, and vice versa. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is user-friendly and user-friendly, and the X40's smart features are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, alter modes, view maps and floor plans, and control mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers numerous features that make it a great option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It can also detect the moment when the mop pad has reached its maximum capacity and alert you to the situation prior to it bursting.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot hoover and mop is one of the most expensive models available on the market. It does have several features that make it stand out. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub that makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it comes with the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can clean pet hair and small dirt particles - as well as picking up spills and wet spots.

The mop is also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This is an excellent feature since it prevents the growth of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and it also makes mop systems more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen on other robot vacuum and mop models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.

There are many options, including the option to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app or there are buttons on the unit itself. The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen in the market, sporting metallic and white colors that looks classy and sophisticated. It's a little heavier than the other two-in-one robots in this list - at around 4kg however it's not overly heavy, and it feels robust and well built. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
