The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It is easy to install and works well. However, if you are buying this robot vacuum solely for mopping you must be aware of this.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a variety of features.

The X1 Omni's main draw is its huge dock, which doubles as a charging base as well as housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a cleaning sink and the 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically eliminates.

The base also has a variety of control buttons that allow you to start a cleaning job or recall the robot or start the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down two buttons to turn off a child lock which is a great touch for parents worried about children playing with the vacuum.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni can sometimes get so entangled with obstacles, like a power cord draped across a rug, that it gets stuck and ceases to function until you manually free it. This is a rare event, but frustrating nonetheless, because the X1 doesn't have a "stuck status" alert on its app.

The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during cleaning. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad, except that mopping pads don't get cleaned or dried between use. This could lead to mildew and mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a major departure from the utilitarian, black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing view in a market which is dominated by clunky boxy models.
