The app is on the basic side, lacking advanced features like multiple cleaning modes and automated scheduling. It does work with Alexa however, its voice controls aren't very precise or responsive. It's also a bit flaky when it comes back to the charging station following a run. Other robots can follow an obstruction or follow a previous route however the RX3 bumbles around until it gives up.

Another issue we faced was with its intelligent features, specifically the mapping function and digital keep-out zones. While it did a decent job of avoiding our furniture legs and shoes but it could easily be caught by socks and cables, and couldn't handle the tassels that adorn rug. That's the reason we didn't choose to include it on our Best Buy list. The Scout RX3 offers a good price and impressive performance. It's worth a look as an alternative to uprights that are traditionally used.
